Oakland partners

All of our mental health services and programs are built on a strong foundation of collaborative partnership, with which Lincoln Families has deep and longstanding experiences in developing and sustaining.

West Oakland

We are grateful for our deep neighborhood partnerships in West Oakland. Together, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for residents through neighborhood linkages to services and holistic supports to build a legacy of success for children, youth, and families.

  • BRIDGE Housing - Together, we provide life enrichment services to low-income residents at three properties in the West Oakland community: Mandela Gateway Apartments, Chestnut Linden, and Iron Horse.

The John Stewart Company - Through our partnership, we provide high-quality property management services for the low-income residents we support.

  • First 5 Alameda County - As a Neighborhoods Ready for School grantee, we launched an Early Childhood Initiative and Family Resource Center designed by West Oakland residents and informed by the success of our East Oakland Family Resource Center.

West Oakland Zone of Excellence (WOZE) - Launched through our First 5 partnership, WOZE enhances the quality of lives of families with children (0-5) residing in the West Oakland community through neighborhood linkages to services and holistic supports to build a legacy of success through early childhood academic readiness.

Holy Names University - Designed as a two-generation strategy to disrupt the cycle of poverty, the program includes a post-secondary level certificate program exclusively for parents/caregivers connected to WOZE. Program features include: course fees and materials free of charge to parent/caregiver participants; parent/caregiver participants receive 3 academic units through HNU’s Extended Learning Center; and 0-5 children of program participants receive "Earliest Admissions” letters to HNU. By completing the course requirements, parents ensure the future college admission of their child. In addition, parent/caregiver participants enrolled in the Legacy Project have access to free diapers, wipes, basic food bag, gift cards, and family navigation support.

  • Mandela Partners - Through this partnership, community members are provided healthy lifestyle opportunities centering on food and wellness resources.

Mandela Groceries Co-Op - Through this partnership’s "Basic Food Bag" project, West Oakland families with children ages 0-5 can shop for and receive a bag of food and basic hygiene items monthly.

Prescott-Joseph Center - Through this partnership, residents in the Mandela Gateway Apartments access “drive-by food giveaways,” packaged grocery tote bags, diapers, and other essential supplies, educational materials, and resources.

  • Self-Help Credit Union - Through this partnership, families access resources and workshops focused on credit education and financial wellness.

Oakland Private Industry Council - In response to parents’ needs, this partnership offers workshops and classes to build essential 21st century workforce skills.

East Oakland

Our East Oakland Family Resource Center is located on the Highland Community School campus. Our relationships with our primary partner, the Oakland Unified School District, are deep as we provide a variety of services throughout the district. Beyond the physical space of the FRC, our partnership with the site principal, Community School Manager, and teachers allow us to provide culturally-relevant activities that bridge the school-home connection, critically important for a mostly immigrant student body. In addition, we coordinate with other local CBOs and public service agencies to provide supports for students and families.
